Help Your Body Heal Itself

Take a cue from professional athletes who’ve discovered the benefits of orthobiologics to help heal injuries and treat pain in a natural way. If you follow sports, you may have heard of injured athletes who seemingly heal and return to the game—and fast. Professional athletes not only have trainers and specialists, but have access to little-known special procedures such as orthobiologics, the use of natural substances like blood and plasma to quickly heal injuries.

Most Common Injuries Treated With Orthobiologics

  • Tendonitis
  • Rotator cuff tears
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Arthritic joints
  • Overuse injuries

We have several orthobiologics procedures that take the plasma from your own blood, which is packaged full of growth factors, and use it for repair and growth. Those healthy growth factors are then concentrated and injected into your injury, allowing natural anti-inflammatory properties repair tissue and speed up your recovery. Another example of orthobiologics are lipogems joint pain injections. Lipogems is an alternative option to surgery where cells from adipose tissue (fat) from your abdomen is injected into your area of injury. This helps to repair, replace, cushion and support damaged or injured joint tissue. This procedure is done in your doctor’s office in about an hour.

Minimally Invasive Joint Surgery

Minimally-Invasive Joint Surgery Using Arthroscopy

If non-surgical treatment has not been effective in treating your joint pain, Marshall surgeons use arthroscopy in minimally invasive surgery on shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles. Arthroscopic surgery involves a few small incisions: one for the arthroscope which allows the surgeon to view the joint and others for the surgical instruments to treat the joint.
This type of minimally invasive surgery results in less pain for the patient and shortens recovery time, allowing you to get back to your everyday activities faster.
